Day 3 – New Energy?

Last night at about 10pm I got a sudden rush of energy.  Good clean energy, just poorly timed as that is when I’m supposed to be going to sleep.  I’m sure this is one of the early signs of my body cleaning itself out and being happy.

I really feel lighter today so I went in and weighed myself and I had lost 1.9 lbs since my weigh in on Day 1.  Some of that may very well be do to water weight and I’ve not hit the weight training since my return from Vegas, so I’ll be cautiously happy about that.

I am very excited about this as one of my personal goals for this was to increase my energy level with natural and steady increased energy and I can feel it already.  Of course the goals for health and improving the planet are all very important too, but I really need some more energy to help me with my new business venture while continuing to run my other company.

I am really curious what my blood chemistry will look like at the end of 30 days.  I have high hopes.  I really feel great!

I still really don’t feel too deprived in terms of what I’m eating.  The weekend may present some new challenges for me, but I’m sure we’ll find some awesome substitutes for our typical weekend fare of Mexican food, pizza and buffalo wings.   We’ve already proved that Italian and boca-burgers are quite tasty so I am optimistic we’ll find other options to replace the old unhealthy foods as well.

I had a business lunch at one of my favorite sushi restaurants today.   I restrained myself from standard sushi and the soy sause, which is typically not vegan.   I had a seaweed salad, brown rice and a vegeroll which was just cucumber and rice wrapped in seaweed.   I left full, but I must confess I missed eating the standard sushi fare a bit.

Dinner was some veggie stir fry with nuts on brown rice and then I enjoyed some home made popcorn.   Yum!

Introduction

I was a very unlikely person to become a vegan, so I wanted to share my day to day experiences as a regular guy that went vegan. Read about what I like and don't like, how I'm feeling and the many changes I've noticed. Please share your comments!
