Monday’s are always a busy day for most people and I am no different. My day started with a workout comprised of 30 minutes on NordicTrack and 10 minutes on BowFlex. This was a bit surprising as I rarely want to do much more than take a walk on Monday mornings. I feel like my energy level is increasing, which is a very good thing!
After the work out I had some breakfast (oatmeal with chopped nuts, diced apples and a few raisins), a shower and then it was off to a meeting. Everyone else had coffee at the meeting, but I really didn’t care for any. I’ve not had any coffee, tea or diet cokes since starting the diet.
For lunch I enjoyed 2 slices of left over pizza, which was less spicy today. Well, at least it didn’t make me break out in a sweat like yesterday.
I had a banana a couple hours later and made it a point to drink water regularly as I worked away on the computer in my office.
I weighed in at 236.8 this morning, so my weight loss was just 1 lb less than a week ago, but based on recent trends I expect that weight loss will increase by mid-week. I hope to lose 8 lbs in the first 30 days and I should reach that goal without trying.
With minor effort I could easily increase that weight loss to 10 pounds a month, but I didn’t want to increase my exercise or deprive myself of anything as part of my 30 day experiment. So, I’m still snacking on chips, enjoying pizza, sandwiches, popcorn and pretty much whatever I want.
Although I didn’t set out to lose weight, with this change in eating I am quite excited by this virtually effortless weight loss as a result of going vegan.
Anyways, for dinner we had burritos with flour tortillas, brown rice, black beans, diced tomatoes and onions. We enjoyed those while watching the Rockies/Phillies NLDS game. It was an exciting team, but a disappointing finish to a turbulent season for the Rockies.
