Happy anniversary, as I have started Month 2 of being a vegan!
Last night we went to Red Robin for a quick dinner as we had heard they serve Boca Burgers. We had ours with guacamole, lettuce, onion, tomato. Cheryl had a pickle with hers, but I passed on the dreaded pickles. We did order our burgers with whole wheat buns, but they forgot and gave us regular buns. Regardless, the burgers were delicious.
The bad news is that I later learned that they use a non vegan version of the Boca burgers and that theirs actually have cheddar cheese as an ingredient. They also serve a Garden burger, which also has cheese in it. In short, Red Robin has no vegan burger options. That was a disappointment and I hope they change their policy.
Honestly, after I had eaten about half of the burger I noticed that it had a flame broiled taste to it, so I suspected it was not the vegan Boca Burger that Cheryl and I enjoy so much. I hoped I was wrong, but after a little Googling it didn’t take any time to discover the truth. Bummer!!
Looking at all those burgers on the menu made me ponder a bit. Did you know that the world’s cattle consume a quantity of food equal to the caloric needs of 8.7 billion people? At the same time 1.2 billion people on Earth are underfed and malnourished and another 1.2 billion people are overfed and malnourished.
Today was Saturday, so I took Harley for a long walk which we both enjoyed. I feel really great with more physical and mental energy and clarity. Afterwards I ran to Chipotle and ordered a vegan burrito to go. It was awesome and really hit the spot after a long brisk walk. I ordered mine with black beans, rice, medium salsa, hot salsa, guacamole and lettuce. Yum!! I really appreciate that Chipotle has organically grown vegan food options.
I came across a couple of cool ads and a really neat short video on the Internet that I wanted to share with you:

The video above is short, positive and compelling, so I hope you take a couple minutes and watch it. Have a wonderful day!!
